Sacred Heart will host "A Time of Meditation, Music and Prayer" with Mark Forrest, International Irish Tenor, on Saturday, June 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Church. Sodality Preakness Day

Get out your party finery and celebrate Preakness Day at Sacred Heart's Tea sponsored by the Sodality on Saturday, May 18 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the Mother Seton Room. Bring your own tea cup if you wish. Tickets are $5. Reservations and payment are due by May 10th.

DO YOU KNOW what First Friday devotions are?

According to St. Margaret Mary, Jesus made 12 "promises" to those who honor His Sacred Heart. "I promise you, in the exceeding mercy of My Heart, that Its all-powerful love will grant to all those who go to Communion on nine First Fridays of the month the final grace of repentance; they shall not die in Its disfavor nor without receiving the Sacraments, My Divine Heart becoming their assumed refuge at that last moment."

The practice is a sort of "novena". As a private revelation, these promises are not an obligatory part of Catholic belief or practice. However, devotion to the Heart of Jesus, as the sign of our Lord's love, is now an important and special part of Catholic tradition.

Weekend Masses

Msgr. Aiken, Mrs. Wright, and Mrs. Cossentino join some of the 150+ Sacred Heart School students who made the Catholic Education Weekend Masses special by assisting with collections, greeting, ushering, and bearing gifts. Worthy of the Call Training

Minor volunteers (age 14-17): Are you interested in volunteering for Vacation Bible School, the Glyndon Area Players, or assisting Religious Education catechists? Please sign up for one of the three "Worthy of the Call" training sessions this spring! Our last remaining session will be held in Room 105 on Saturday, June 1 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. If you want to attend a session, please RSVP to Mary Lee McCusker (410-833-6877).
