Programs and Groups for Children

"Whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it."  Mark 10:15

Children are an important and precious part of our Sacred Heart parish family. Here they can grow, worship, and enjoy fellowship with each other in a faith-filled environment. At the sacrament of Baptism, we promise to raise our children in the Catholic faith. That moment is the start of their lifelong journey with Jesus Christ!

Our parish community provides several programs and groups to help with the faith formation and spiritual growth of children. There are also opportunities for recreation and fun, service, socializing, prayer, and more. In our Religious Education program, children of all ages learn and discover our Catholic truths, beliefs, and teachings... growing in faith year by year. At young ages, our children develop a love for God and a relationship with Him. As they grow in faith and maturity, children learn that they are part of a faith community and that God listens to them. They grow closer to Jesus and become full members of the Christian community through the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. Older children discover that our Catholic faith involves service and love for others.

The family is the "domestic church" where children first learn love, forgiveness, and prayerful worship, and we offer several activities where parents and children can gather together for Christian fellowship. At activities like scouting, sports, and Vacation Bible School, children meet new friends and develop new skills while learning of God's great love. We invite and encourage you to involve your children in the parish life here at Sacred Heart!
