Events and Announcements

Holy Hour for Life

The Respect Life Committee invites you to pray and sing at the Holy Hour for Life during Eucharistic Adoration on Friday, October 4 from 4:00 — 5:00 p.m. in the Little Church. All are welcome. Please stop by for 10 to 15 minutes or for the whole hour as we sing songs of praise (including some VBS songs), listen to children read prayers / scripture verses, and pray in the presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. We pray all will respect the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. If your son or daughter would like to read, please arrive at 3:50 p.m. Immediately following the Holy Hour for Life, we invite you to join us for kickball on the Sacred Heart School field. Please call Denise Blair-Nellies at 410-795-6852 for more information.

Invitation to Spiritually Adopt a Precious Pre-born Baby

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you came to birth I consecrated you;
I appointed you as prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5

During all the Masses the weekend of October 5/6, the Respect Life Committee will invite you to spiritually adopt a precious pre-born baby. We encourage you to pray for this little one every day for nine months. Please contact Denise Blair-Nellies at 410-795-6852 or to sign up to receive a monthly message from your little one via email, so you can hear about his/her miraculous development in the womb. Thank you for praying for respect for the sacred gift of life.

The First Parish-Wide Baby Bottle Campaign

We invite you to participate in a baby bottle campaign that will benefit the Pregnancy Support Center of Carroll County (PSC). Pick up your baby bottle after all Masses on October 5/6 and save your spare change for the following 3 weeks. Then return the bottle filled with change, cash, or checks to the special bins near the Main Church entrances on the weekend of October 26/27. It's that simple! PSC is a pro-life center that served 1,051 clients last year. It provides free ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, baby clothes, maternity clothing, diapers, wipes, baby food and formula, and more. They offer resources for homelessness, addiction, abuse, safe housing, and physicians' care. Visit or call 410-871-HOPE to learn more.

Sacred Heart Respect Life Committee Needs You

The Sacred Heart Respect Life Committee invites you to join us for a rosary for life and planning meeting on Thursday, October 17 in Room 112. We will pray a rosary for life from 6:30 — 7:00 p.m., and the planning meeting will take place from 7:00 — 8:00 p.m. We welcome you to join us in planning ways we can spread awareness for respect for the sacred gift of life from conception to natural death. Please call Denise Blair-Nellies at 410-795-6852 for more information.

Sharing Christ's Love with the Future Care Residents

The Respect Life Committee and Faith in Action invite you to share the love of Christ by singing songs (including VBS songs) with the residents of Future Care Cherrywood Nursing Home (located on 12020 Reisterstown Road) on Monday, October 21 from 6:30 — 7:30 p.m. We will meet in the lobby at 6:25 p.m. We will be distributing pictures to the residents. As we thank God for the sacred gift of life, we will also sing "Happy Birthday" to each resident who has a birthday in October. Please call Denise Blair-Nellies at 410-795-6852 for more information.
