Sacred Heart Parish Respect Life Committee Mission Statement

The Respect Life Committee is Sacred Heart Parish's pro-life, pro-family organization committed to the sanctity of all human life from natural conception to natural death by promoting the teaching of the Catholic Church through education, outreach and prayer.

 

The Respect Life Committee invites you to join with us in praying for the sanctity of all human life. We invite you to our meetings and events. We ask for your input and ideas to help us become a large and active group promoting a culture of life in our community. We ask you to recommend our information to anyone experiencing a crisis pregnancy.

 

 

Events and Announcements

Center for Pregnancy Concerns Fundraising Banquet

You are cordially invited to attend the Center for Pregnancy Concerns Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, October 5 at the Hunt Valley Inn on 245 Shawan Road, Hunt Valley, MD. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m., and the dinner and program take place from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. An opportunity to make a financial gift will be extended. Dinner is complimentary. Holy Hour for Life

The Respect Life Committee invites you to pray and sing at the Holy Hour for Life during Eucharistic Adoration on Friday, October 6 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Little Church. We will sing songs of praise, listen to children read prayers/scripture verses, and pray in the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Psalm 139:13: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." We pray all will respect the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. If your son/daughter would like to read, please arrive at 3:50 p.m. Please join us for kickball on the field near the school playground after the Holy Hour for Life. Invitation to Participate in Spiritual Adoption (Spanish and English)

Sacred Heart Parish will be celebrating Respect for the Sanctity of Life on October 14 and 15. At all the Masses on October 14 and 15, the Sacred Heart Respect Life Committee will invite you to participate in our 4th annual spiritual adoption program by praying for a precious pre-born baby and his parents for nine months. Please prayerfully consider stopping by the Respect Life tables after the Masses to sign up to spiritually adopt a precious pre-born baby growing in his/her mother's womb. Please join us as we thank God for the sacred gift of life and pray all will respect life from conception to natural death. Sharing Christ's Love with the Future Care Residents

The Respect Life Committee and Faith in Action invite you to share the love of Christ by singing songs with the residents of Future Care Cherrywood Nursing Home (located on 12020 Reisterstown Road) on Monday, October 16 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. We will meet in the lobby at 6:25 p.m. We will be distributing cards to the residents. As we thank God for the sacred gift of life, we will also sing "Happy Birthday" to each resident who has a birthday in October. Prayerful Sing-along

The Respect Life Committee invites people of all ages to join us for songs, prayers, fellowship, and refreshments at the Lenten Prayerful Sing Along on Friday, October 20 from 7:15 - 9:15 p.m. in the Mother Seton Room. Our theme is "Thanking God for the Sacred Gift of Life". We invite you to bring a donation for the pro-life pregnancy center (e.g. diapers, wipes, baby shampoo, new and gently used baby clothing [size infant - 3T], etc.). Child care is provided. Respect Life Committee Seeks New Members

The Respect Life Committee invites you to join them for a rosary for life and planning meeting on Thursday, October 26, in room 112. We will pray a rosary for life from 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., and the planning meeting will take place from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. We welcome you to join us in planning ways we can spread awareness for respect for the sacred gift of life from conception to natural death. Baby Supplies Needed for Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers

The Respect Life Committee invites you to bring in a donation for pro-life pregnancy centers: Tender Care Pregnancy Center and the Center for Pregnancy Concerns. Please drop off donations [e.g. baby shampoo, diapers, wipes, formula, new and gently used baby clothes (size infant - 3T]) in the St. Vincent de Paul bins located in the main lobby of the church and the music room corridor. We give thanks to God for the sacred gift of life and pray all will respect life from conception to natural death. "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for Me." (Matthew 25:40)

Pro-Life OB/GYN

Mary Ann Sorra, M.D., OB/GYN, stopped prescribing artificial contraception and adopted the use of natural family planning in her medical practice in 2009. (Click here to read the Catholic Review article about her.) She then partnered with Saint Agnes to start Natural Fertility Care. She believes she became a better doctor after making that transition — better able to care for the whole human person, body and soul. She trained at the Pope Paul VI Institute and became a Medical Consultant for NaPro technology in 2011. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Association of Pro-life Ob/Gyns. Rachel's Vineyard and Project Rachel

Rachel's Vineyard (sometimes known as "Project Rachel") is a ministry offering post-abortion counseling, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Maternity Counseling / Adoption Services

These services are offered by Catholic Charities in Baltimore. They offer the support needed to make the best decision for you and your baby. Call 410-659-4050 or 1-800-CARE-002.

 

Committee Meetings

The Committee meets monthly during the school year on the third Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in room 112.

 

Weekly, there is a Prayer Vigil for Life on Saturday mornings in Owings Mills at the corner of Dolfield and Music Fair Road from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. One does not have to attend the monthly meetings in order to help. Volunteers for our annual events are always needed!
