Blessing of Youth

God of youth, we ask your blessing upon our young people. You have gifted each one of them in a special and unique way. May they come to know and share the wonder and awe that lives within them as they grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding of You. Guide and sustain them as they discern your invitation to discipleship. Bless their openness and enthusiasm and allow their questions to both enliven and challenge us as a community of believers gathered to do your will. Strengthen and support the many good works they do. Challenge and provoke them along their journey of faith so they may help lead the church into the possibilities of tomorrow. In all these things, we ask your blessing upon them this day, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. AMEN!

in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity."  1 Timothy 4:12

The most important relationship in our lives is our relationship with God. The mission of Sacred Heart Youth Ministry is to lead teens closer to Christ by facilitating experiences of faith, worship, learning, service, community, fellowship, and joy in partnership with parents and our parish community. Our vision is that Youth Ministry is an active and a vital part of the whole parish with the whole parish engaged — parents, peers, clergy, mentors, elders, and the youth. We are committed to the reality that young people are an important and integral part of our Catholic faith community. We affirm the gifts of our youth and we promote opportunities for young people to share their gifts with the larger community. Teens can...

The shapes that our Youth Ministry Programs take on here at Sacred Heart are a reflection of the greater parish life that thrives in our community. Far from being a completely separate entity, our youth ministry programs usually rely, at least in part, upon other parish programs.

"It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provoked you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your heart your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be ground down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal."
