The Creation Care Team is hosting a Wine and Cheese Social for a screening and discussion of The Letter: A Message for Our Earth.

The Letter: A Message for Our Earth is an 80-minute documentary from the Vatican that features Pope Francis and a group of environmental champions, from different faiths and worldviews, from around the world. In 2015, Pope Francis wrote Laudato Sí, an encyclical letter about the environmental crisis to every single person in the world. A few years later, four voices that have gone unheard in global conversations have been invited to an unprecedented dialogue with the Pope.  Their voices represent the Indigenous, the young, the poor, and wildlife. Through the film, we follow their journeys from the Amazon, India, Senegal, and Hawai'i to the Vatican. Each activist shares their personal story and that of their country, revealing new eye-opening perspectives on the state of our planet and the need to do to rebalance our relations with the earth. After viewing the documentary, we will discuss how our faith is calling us to care for our common home.
